Conditions not covered by SOPs
Claims concerning diseases and injuries that are not covered by SOPs can still be lodged with and determined by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, but are determined by having regard to available medical opinions and evidence rather than a SOP.

If the RMA has notified that it intends to carry out an investigation of a non-SOP condition, claims relating to that condition under the VEA cannot be determined by the Repatriation Commission (DVA), and claims or reviews relating to that condition under the MRCA cannot be determined by the Military…

Secretariat Staff
The staff necessary to assist the Authority consists of persons engaged under the Public Service Act 1999 and made available to it by the Secretary of the Department of Veterans' Affairs under section 196T of the VEA. These staff make up the RMA Secretariat.
Routinely Requested Information and Disclosure Log
Publicly available information released following an FOI access request From 1 May 2011, every agency is required under section 11C of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) to publish a disclosure log on its website.
Consultation Arrangements
In the process of carrying out investigations and reviews, and exercising its powers to determine SOPs, the RMA undertakes consultation with a wide range of interested parties and stakeholders via a number of long-standing arrangements.
