1998 Canberra Forum
This Forum was jointly hosted by the Repatriation Medical Authority (RMA)
and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and involved representatives from
various Australian Ex-Service Organisations. The prime objective of the
Forum was to develop a document setting out; the RMA’s understanding of
its legislative powers and functions; the general principles the RMA follows
in addressing causality; a description of how the RMA goes about the performance
of its functions; and the manner in which persons may bring matters relevant
to a Statements of Principle (SOP) to the attention of the RMA.
