11. Support from the Department of Veterans' Affairs
Although the Authority is separate and independent of the Department
of Veterans’ Affairs, the Department provided assistance and support to
the Authority during the year.
As in previous years, the Authority consulted with the Department of
Veterans’ Affairs in order to ascertain what kinds of injury, disease
or death were the most frequently claimed and the number of claims unable
to be finalised in compliance with sub-section 120A(2) and 120B(2) of
the VEA. The Queensland State Office of the Department also assisted the
Authority by providing Corporate Services support in the areas of Personnel
and Payroll Services, Financial Services, Office Services and Information
Technology Services.
