2004/2005 ANNUAL REPORT
14. Distribution of Statements of Principles

There has been a gradual shift in emphasis on methods by which the RMA Secretariat distributes Statements of Principles.  Since the introduction of the RMA Website, a growing number of individuals and/or organisations receive their information via this medium.  As reported above, there are now in excess of 791 persons/organisations who have registered through the site to receive advice of new or additional information via the Website.

Since 1 January 2005, all new Statements of Principles determined by the Authority have been lodged with the Attorney-General’s Department for registration on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.  An exercise to lodge existing Instruments, as required by the Legislative Instruments Act, is also in progress.  The Federal Register is available online for interested parties to access.

In addition, the RMA Secretariat sends Statements of Principles to approximately 260 destinations.  This involves the issue, to individuals and/or organisations, of some 217 hard copies, 41 CD copies, 23 disk copies and 36 e-mail copies of the Statements of Principles.

The RMA Secretariat distributes to Ex-Service Organisations, individual ex-service persons and their representatives, DVA, Veterans’ Review Board and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.  Statements of Principles are also issued to the Senate Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances and the Tabling Officers in both Houses of Federal Parliament.
