An ongoing important task for the RMA during 1999/2000 was to continue
to build on the very good rapport and open communication links, established
in previous years, with the ex-service organisations and individual veterans.
The Chairperson of the RMA attended the Queensland and National Conferences
of the Returned and Services League of Australia. He also addressed the
Annual General Meeting of the Australian Veterans and Defence Service
Council and the Annual Meeting of Legacy National Pensions Committee.
During the year the RMA also conducted open forums in Perth and Adelaide
with advocates and welfare officers from ex-service organisations. The
RMA plans to hold similar forums during 2000/2001 and will investigate
the possibility of holding forums in regional areas.
